Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos 2014 | The Three Wise Men parade 2014

Este próximo domingo 5 de enero se celebrará en Madrid la famosa Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, que pone el colofón a las fiestas navideñas. Este año el recorrido de la cabalgata principal comenzará en Nuevos Ministerios, en la plaza San Juan de la Cruz, a las 18.30, y acabará en el Palacio de Cibeles, recorriendo la Castellana de un punto a otro, acompañados por carrozas de "magos" como Merlín, el Mago de Oz, o el gran Houdini.

Además de la fiesta, la música, la magia y el colorido que ofrece la propia cabalgata, habrá otros espectáculos como el Circo Ecológico de Alejandra Botto, que comenzará su show a las 18.00 en la Plaza de Cibeles, el discurso de los Reyes Magos desde el mismo sitio, que tendrá lugar a las 20.45 y los fuegos artificiales que clausurarán la fiesta.

¿Sabías que la primera cabalgata de Reyes Magos celebrada fue en Alcoy, en 1866? Es también la más antigua del mundo.

Dónde: En la Castellana, desde Nuevos Ministerios a Cibeles.

Cuándo: El día 5 de enero. La cabalgata empieza a las 18.30, pero si quieres verla sentado tendrás que estar mucho antes ;). El circo comienza a las 18.00.

The Three Wise Men parade 2014

This Sunday, January the 5th, there will be held in Madrid the famous Three Wise Men Parade that closures the Christmas holidays. This year the parade will begin in Nuevos Ministerios, at the plaza San Juan de la Cruz, at 6.30, and end up in the Palace of Cibeles, travelling across the Castellana from one point to another, accompanied by fairy-tale floats in which magicians such as Merlin, the Great Houdini or the Wizard of Oz, will be the main characters. 

In addition of the party, the music, the magic and the colorful spectacle, there will be other shows like the eco-friendly circus of Alejandra Botto, that will start at 6 pm in the Plaza de Cibeles, the Three Wise Men´s speech, which will take place at 8.45 pm and the Fireworks behind the Town Hall, as grace note of the journey.

Did you know that the first Three Wise Men Parade was celebrated in Spain, was in Alcoy (Alicante) in 1866? It was also the first in the world.

Where: At the Castellana, from Nuevos Ministerios to Cibeles.

When: On the 5th of January. The parade starts at 6.30 pm, but if you want to get a seat you better be an early bird ;). The circus starts at 6.00 pm.
