Vuelve Ribera Matadero, la terraza de Matadero con vistas al río | Ribera Matadero is back, with a terrace and view to the riverside

El 2 de agosto Matadero Madrid y Mahou sin  reabren la Ribera Matadero, un espacio con vistas al río que ofrece eventos culturales y fiestas cada fin de semana, con conciertos y videocreaciones de "carismáticas figuras del underground madrileño". Y es que lo original de esta iniciativa es la posibilidad que tiene quien quiera (y sea seleccionado para ello) de presentar su propio espectáculo, sirviéndose de los 2 Escaravox, unas plataformas creativas ideadas para representar creaciones musicales, artísticas o audiovisuales, diseñadas por el arquitecto madrileño Andrés Jaque, que el Ayuntamiento de Madrid pone a disposición de los artistas. Quien quiera formar parte de la programación de Ribera Matadero puede hacerlo enviando tu propuesta, hasta el 23 de agosto, a creadores@mataderomadrid.org .

Por tanto, Ribera Matadero ofrece los viernes estos espectáculos de fórmula abierta y los sábados, actividades y conciertos como estos:

2 y 3 de agosto. Press Start

Jornada inaugural y el sábado actividades acuáticas con el grupo Salto de Cama. Estáis invitados a asistir en bañador y armados con vuestras chanclas y flotadores.

9 y 10 de agosto. Arte y Parte

El colectivo de tejedoras formado por Las Valentinas y UdonWool invadirá los Escaravox con sus lanas y agujas, dispuestas a mostrarle el maravilloso mundo del tejer a los asistentes que deseen participar en este yarn bombing. Aterrizarán copadas de un montón de granny squares, adornos y otras piezas en trapillo u ovillos reciclados para desarrollar junto a los asistentes durante la sesión. Ribera Matadero nos invita a acudir con nuestros materiales propios para sacarle el mayor partido a la experiencia.

16 y 17 de agosto. La Reverbena

Siguiendo la estela de La verbena de la Paloma, se revisan las fiestas populares y castizas para reinterpretarlas de una forma esotérica apostando por lo lúdico, lo musical y,  sobre todo  lo participativo. DJ K-SETS hará mover el esqueleto a su público con su selección de working class music en riguroso cassette y ganará el concurso de baile quien lo haga con la mayor de las alegrías.

23 y 24 de agosto. Aquí y ahora

Arte de acción y performance con corte de pelo y esteticista incluidos.

30 y 31 de agosto. Del freak al frac

Entre otras propuestas el ilustrador Nicolai Trishinski presentará su corto de animación Astigmatismo.

6 y 7 de septiembre. Una historia para recordar

Despediremos el verano mostrando recuerdos gráficos, audiovisuales y sonoros de la convocatoria Foto o no pasó.

Ribera Matadero is back, with a terrace and view to the riverside

On August the 2^nd the Matadero Madrid and the beer brand Mahou sin re-open the Ribera Matadero, a space with a view to the river included that offers cultural events and parties every weekend, with concerts so as videocreations by "charismatic figures of Madrid´s underground scene". The coolest of this initiative is the possibility that has everyone who wants (and who gets selected for it) of presenting his/her own spectacle, with the help of a Escaravox, two creative platforms designed to represent musical, artistic or audio-visual creations designed by Madrid´s architect Andrés Jaque, that the Town hall puts at the disposal of the artists. Whoever wants to take part of Ribera Matadero´s program can do it by sending his/her proposal to creadores@mataderomadrid.org until August the 23^rd.

So, Ribera Matadero offers open spectacles on Fridays and many activities and concerts like the followings on Saturdays:

Aug 2^nd and 3^rd. Water sports

What better way to enjoy the night air than with a refreshing dip? Come over with your bikini and flip-flops.

Aug 9^th and 10^th. Drawing Paper

Come along to Ribera Matadero and get down to work: on paper or on screen, all artists and their tools are welcome. Also urban knitting and yarn bombing.

Aug 16^th and 17^th. The Reverbena

Following in the footsteps of La Verbena de la Paloma, the two days after will serve to revive and relive this authentic and popular festival. 

Aug 23^rd and 24^th. Here and Now: action

Performance: the art of action and experience, those present will be the protagonists.

Aug 30^th and 31^st. Geek-vision (underworlds)

The nerds have always been responsible for bringing the best-kept secrets of the underground to the surface.

Sep 6^th and 7^th. Popular Documentation

Reflections on the city and its citizens through their own photographs and films.
